At Hostel Marina, Cadaquez ,Spain
The room was white. This seemed fitting as we were in the “white city” of Cadaquez, situated on the eastern most point in Spain. Our tour of the “Dali Triangle” started here with a visit to his house and the coastal rock formations that inspired his images.
Never a fan of Salvador Dali’s paintings, I came to appreciate the mad genius through his objects, installations, and living spaces, including a round room for “entertaining.” Ha! After a visit to the Dali Museum and Gala’s House (his wife/muse who required Dali to submit written requests to visit), my appreciation only increased. I never took him seriously, but I don’t think he took himself seriously either, despite all the bluster.
Next stop: Blanas, Spain

Project Description:
For more than three months I traveled-Thailand, the US, England, Portugal, and Spain. Drawing and painting is a powerful way to capture a specific place and time. Here are 20 works documenting the epic journey. They are not pictures of the most beautiful sights, or historical treasures, but rather a documentation of where I slept along the way. They represent a jumping off point for remembrance.
In the Mirror series here. Drawings and paintings done on location whenever I am away from home. An artist/traveler’s visual diary.
