All the world’s a stage

Writing about art is tricky business.

I could easily cook up some fancy language to describe this image, but is that really necessary? Would some well chosen words make you see it better? Like it better?

How about some shop talk? Do you want to know what technique I used or a breakdown of the process? Maybe.

But today I’m feeling quiet.

Between you and me, I have no idea who this lady is, posing with her back to utter ruin. She emerged from some corner of my psyche and I’m just as curious as you are as to what’s what and what’s next.

What I can tell you is that I’ve been thinking about a quote from Shakespeare, that “all the world’s a stage…” This painting is a direct manifestation of that idea.

Stay tuned.
